Refrigerating leftovers is also a good method of prevention and hygiene and failure to do so runs the risk of contracting these spoilage bacteria from food, if you will cook on the other day, do it at a temperature of not less than 165 degrees to kill any left over.
When cooking meat thawed, do it immediately after thawing, the meat should never be thawed at room temperature and is more prone to decay. A method can be either in the refrigerator as the microwave or just cold water.
Check the expiration date of products is fundamental for the ingestion of the same. If the date has expired, throw food, do not risk contracting a dangerous disease.
